In the last couple of weeks there have been a good deal of interesting and important comments made on the Tamil/Indian Malaysian community. The guiding thread in all these comments has been the problems faced by the community, the causes of the problems within the community and suggestions of corrective measures. Watson Road Tamil School, Port Klang.
The most dramatic problem that took a lot of space in the mainstream media and caught a lot people’s attention recently was about the menace of gangsterism in the community.
If one surveys the various comments carefully, three causes for the problems of the Tamil Malaysian community come to mind. These causes are economic and political marginalisation; Tamil cinema; and Tamil schools.
No benefits
Many middle- and upper-middle class Tamil/Indian Malaysians hold a view that Tamil schools are practically useless. Students in Tamil schools do not benefit either educationally or economically. And, worse, Tamil schools have become a hotbed for nurturing and sustaining vices and gangsterism.
So why maintain an institution that does not do any good for the Tamil Malaysian community and generally embarrasses the Indian community. Their solution: Get rid of Tamil schools. Read more...

Whether he competes in boxing or mixed martial arts, the toughest decision any professional prizefighter must confront is deciding when to end his career. Boxing history is littered with countless once great fighters that diminished their legacy and put their health and well being at risk by sticking around too long. As evidence that MMA has matured as a sport, it appears to be experiencing the same phenomenon with fighters such as Ken Shamrock soldiering on despite being well past their prime. Kazushi Sakuraba is definitely the most legendary fighter in the history of MMA in Japan, but unfortunately he too must be added to that list following his brutal knockout loss to Melvin Manhoef at DREAM 4.
Mixed martial arts is booming in America, but there’s not one specific fighter responsible for its upswing in popularity. That’s not the case in Japan, as Sakuraba is almost universally acknowledged as having brought MMA to the mainstream of Japanese sports and popular culture. In particular, his on-going feud with Brazil’s Gracie family made him a major superstar and national hero. Read more...

Are you a stock market beginner? The amount of “civilians” that have become involved in the stock market has increased sharply over the past few decades. So you might be asking yourself “how can I get a cut of the deal and make money investing?” There are a number of different approaches to finding companies that may be worthwhile to invest in, but two basic methods are fundamental analysis or technical analysis. Fundamental analysis involves analyzing companies by their financial statements found in SEC Filings, general economic conditions, business trends and the like.
Technical analysis looks at price actions in markets by utilizing charts and quantitative techniques to try to predict price trends that may be independent of the company’s financial prospects. One good example of a technical analysis strategy is the Trend following method. This analysis is used by Ed Seykota and John W. Henry and it looks at price patterns, uses strict money management, and is founded also in diversification and risk control. Read more...

Vince Lombardi once said “Winning isn’t everything, its the only thing”. For most of the mainstream sports media, that couldn’t be more true. Countless hours on sports talk radio are spent deriding NBA players like Charles Barkley and NFL players like Dan Marino for never winning a championship. Simply stated, no one remembers the runner up and the mainstream sports media helps reinforce this ‘frontrunner’ mentality.
The mainstream sports media also likes to depict boxing as a repository of sleaze, but the reality is that more so than other sports ‘the sweet science’ cares about ‘how the game is played’. Boxing pundits place great emphasis on the competitive quality of a fight–great fights like the Morales-Barrera trilogy, Hagler-Hearns or Hagler-Leonard are considered such for the heart and resolve shown by the fighters, not because of who won. The 2004 fight between current ‘pound for pound’ king Manny Pacquaio and Juan Manuel Marquez is a perfect example–despite breathtaking action from start to finish the fight was ultimately ruled a draw. Nicaraguan boxing legend Alexis Arguello was found dead of an apparent suicide in his home in early July. At the time of his death, he served as mayor of Nicaragua’s capital city.
Known for his class outside the ring as much for his tenacity inside the ring, hes best known to casual fight fans for his epic war in’82 with Aaron The Hawk Pryor when he moved up in weight after dominating at lighter weight classes. Ring Magazine not only named it Fight of the Year, but later would dub it Fight of the Decade. Promoter Bob Arum offered these thoughts on Pryor/Arguello:
“It was a brutal, brutal fight. That was something I will never, ever forget as long as I live. That was one of the most memorable fights I ever did.”
While the first Pryor fight may have brought him the most mainstream notoriety, boxing cognoscenti are aware that Arguello is arguably the best lightweight and junior lightweight in the history of the sport. Arguello would end his career with an astounding 82-8 record with 65 knockouts and championships in three different weight classes. Read more...

Passing your driving test is guaranteed to give you a lot more freedom. Driving places that are too far to walk or require waiting for public transport can make life a lot easier. Once you pass your test and get access to a car there is a whole world of possibilities open to you.
As a newly qualified driver it is essential to bear in mind that for the first two years and if you accumulate six penalty points you will have to retake your test and start from scratch. You will only be allowed to drive again when you have one to the time and expense of retaking your test.
Many new drivers find themselves accumulating points due to speeding. As points are generally accumulated in three’s it is easy to see how new drivers can find themselves being disqualified in the first two years of driving.
It is also worth bearing in mind that drivers are most at risk of having an accident within the first two years of passing their test, even more reason not to commit speeding offences. Private investigators carry out investigations using different types of surveillance or search gadgets and methods. They verify information by searching and researching a person’s place of employment or income. To do so, they make telephone calls to contacts and they go and visit their subject’s home, hang out, work place and others. Interviewing is a big part of their jobs. Private investigators interview people to gather as much information as possible about the subject that they are tracking. In all cases, private investigators assist attorneys, businesses, and the public with a variety of legal, financial, and personal problems.
The range of services that a private investigator offers include executive, corporate, and celebrity protection; pre-employment verification; individual background profiles; assistance in civil liability and personal injury cases; insurance claims and fraud; child custody and protection cases; and sometimes they also do premarital screening.
Private investigators are trained heavily so they can do stealthy physical surveillance for very long periods of time in a hidden area or spot. Observation is key. They must be meticulous in observing the events happening in a specific place and time. They must also have endurance since surveillance continues for very long periods as they carry equipment such as video cameras, binoculars, and a cell phone. Read more...

Today many individuals have no clue to the significant existence of the spiritual being and physical being since modern science reduces this fact from their own minds.
Contrary to this are the thoughts of life by the Hindu that the flame of spiritual healing still burns vividly along with the advancement of technology and science.

Manifesting Desires has become a hot topic in recent times. Something that was once just considered “wishful thinking” is now taking on a more realistic realm with quantum physicists acknowledging that the power of thought is a powerful tool in creating your own reality.
There are a variety of ways one can actually attempt to attain that which they long for. However you must initially have a clear concept of what it is you specifically want before you attempt to actually manifest your desires. If you don’t then manifesting your desires will be almost impossible to accomplish. Have a clear or clearer picture in your mind of that what you wish to be true about your life, as it is a necessary must to manifesting your desires. The first step is visualization.
You must actually visualize your desires, accentuate your longings in your mind. Make a mental vision board, and create in turn a visual-a series of photos of what it is that you want. Thinking of this on a day to day basis will help you to focus on your dream, and the result send vibes into the universe. This can accumulate and create clear energy waves that aid in turning your dreams into truth. Read more...
