The Portland Trailblazers have needed a big inside presence ever since starting center Greg Oden and backup Joel Pryzbilla went down with season ending injuries. They finally found one on Tuesday as they acquired veteran Marcus Camby from the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers received forward Travis Outlaw and guard Steve Blake. Camby is expected to make his debut in a Blazers’ uniform on Friday when Portland hosts the Boston Celtics.
The transaction also served to answer the nagging question about Portland’s point guard situation. Steve Blake and Andre Miller have shared time running the offense, but Blazers’ management apparently felt that Miller was a better fit with superstar shooting guard Brandon Roy. Ironically, until Miller picked up a lot of the offense slack lately with Roy on the shelf with a hamstring injury the presumption was that he’d be the one heading elsewhere as the NBA trade deadline approached.
All three players involved are in the final year of their current contract, meaning that barring anything unforeseen Camby’s career in Portland will probably last only 23 games plus the playoffs. Outlaw and Blake may or may not fit into the Clippers longterm plans. Read more...

White cyc is a particular component used to develop a cyclorama that surrounds the platform. All the innovations in technology did very little to vary how the cyc is lit through the years. All the fresh technology has enhanced the need for suitable lighting and using the right kind of substance for the white cyc.
What technology has been doing is to take century old technologies and make its use essential for building digital backgrounds for virtual reality. This is also executed for special effects of the rising avalanche of films, and several video programs dependent on personal computer systems requiring perfect digital backgrounds that can simply be created in white cyclorama studios. White cyc studios technology dates back to 19th century German Theaters and has shifted round the movie community for a long time. White wall surface was used for early twentieth century Broadway plays lastly wound up in Hollywood use for making special effects. Read more...

The New Orleans Saints used a 14 point fourth quarter to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 on Sunday to win their first Superbowl in franchise history. Drew Brees broke open a tight game midway through the final quarter with his touchdown pass to Jeremy Shockey, and Tracy Porter scored on a 74 yard interception return as the Colts were driving on the next series to secure the victory. Brees completed 32 passes in the game, tying New England’s Tom Brady for the all time record in that category.
After enthusiasts had come in early on the favored Colts, a good deal of buyback on the Saints had pushed the line to -4′ and the New Orleans backers were enriched by their team’s outright victory. The underdog has now covered three straight Superbowls and taken the money in five of the last seven games. The 48 points scored stayed well under the posted total of 57, which was the highest over/under number in Superbowl history. Five of the last six Superbowls have now played UNDER the total.
In his postgame interview, a jubilant Brees gave much of the credit to the city of New Orleans: Read more...

The concept of the “subconscious mind,” once an accepted element of psychoanalysis, has fallen out of favor in the professional, academic circles in recent decades. This may be due, in part, to the subconscious mind being embraced by psychics and other “New Age” practitioners who seek to tap the power of subconscious mind to achieve psychic abilities.
The powers and abilities of the subconscious mind are unable to measured or tested in a laboratory. Since no two people are alike, no two minds, conscious or subconscious, will react the same to any given situation. This makes it difficult for the scientific community to accept the idea of the subconscious mind.
The power of subconscious mind, however, is a very real and common phenomenon. It has been recognized (albeit under different names) and utilized by cultures across the globe and throughout history. The power of subconscious mind is still a useful tool today for modern people willing to acknowledge and trust it. This article will explain just what the subconscious mind is, and how it can help you in everyday life.
What Exactly Is the “Subconscious Mind”? Read more...

There is no refuting that penguins are enchanting and adorable. Not only are they faithful to their parents, but they practically walk to the ends of the earth for their children. Few creatures are as brave. If you are trying to find a way to make your personal bank checks more exciting then you might want to think about getting penguin checks. Let the charming antics of the Antarctic’s most celebrated creatures cheer up your check book. If you order them online, you will save quite a bit of money and ordering them is easier than you might think.
Penguins are a group of birds that, while they are good swimmers, are unable to fly. They live in a very harsh environment and their bodies are made exclusively for survival. When they dive into the water, for example, their wings turn into flippers. Although the largest species are the Emperor penguins, they still only reach about 4 feet tall. However, in the prehistoric times, some were as tall and heavy as present day humans! Back then, they didn’t all live in the Antarctic regions, either. Read more...

Kyle Boller filled in for an injured Mark Bulger, and the St. Louis Rams improved to 2-1 on the NFL preseason with a 24-21 victory over the host Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams led 24-14 heading into the fourth quarter, but a Bengals TD early in the frame made for some drama down the stretch.
Boller did withstand a hard hit from linebacker Keith Rivers that knocked his helmet off his head. Despite the hit, he Rams #2 QB was 14 of 20 for 96 yards. After the game, he talked about the play:
“I could have slid a little earlier. It is what it is. My chin strap hit just above my eyes. It was a good scramble, but maybe if I can get down a little sooner, the coaches would like that.”
Rivers insisted the hit wasnt intentional:
“I was just trying to get to the ball. It wasn’t anything intentional.”
Boller had struggled last week after starting QB Bulger was forced to leave the game with a broken pinkie finger but played well this week. Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo gave him credit in his postgame media comments: Read more...
